NO TRAINING WHEELS EVER. I wish more people would figure out balance bikes. I feel sorry for the poor kids who are WAY too HIGH, tip over all the time and pretty much have to pedal a 40 pound bike around for their first riding experience. SCARY! How can that be fun?! Developmentally the strider bike makes perfect sense. Our 3.3 year old rides his pedal bike without training wheels. He starts by himself, and asks to ride his bike morning, noon and night! I give all the credit to Strider bikes. The seat height can go so low, that even at 2 he could walk around on it. Don't even hesitate to get one. Your kid will love it. I do wish the wheels were more durable. We mounted 12 inch aluminum wheels on ours and it worked so much better.
