Q: What is cuter than a child on a Strider? A: Twins riding their Striders!

We found this great review from a Mother of twins. Have you had similar experiences to Dolly?

“I bought two strider balance bikes for my boy/girl twins for their birthday. They loved them and it was great that they were able to hop right on and use them right away. It was nice that there was no frustration on getting them to work like they have had in the past with their tricycle. We had their birthday party at a park and the twins were able to ride their bikes all over the playground and park. They have progressed just like the toddlers in the online videos and within a week were balancing. I got the pink and green bikes and both are adorable. I decided to go with the Strider balance bike because it has one of the lowest seat settings.” ~Dolly

This last weekend in the lovely (usually sunny) Black Hills of South Dakota, the TinTon Trail Time Trial Stupor D took place! A brave few Strider riders were in attendance to cheer on their Moms and Dads rip down the 6.35 mile downhill course.

They also had some racing fun of their own on the off-road Strider track. Bumpy single track and maneuvering between boulders made this course much to tricky for tricycles and training wheels alike! We always have a fun time seeing the next generation of Mountain Bike racers cheer on their parents astride their Striders!

The course consisted of some tight turns and obstacles that no tricycle stood a chance of getting over! Thanks to all who put this event together and for all the parents who brought out their Strider riders to have some racing fun!

If your child(ren) have caught the racing bug and you’ll be around Gunnison, CO on June 25th there will be another Strider Cup race at the Gunnison River Festival starting at 11am (6/25).

We love this video that we found on YouTube for a couple reasons. Watch as Grace does circles around her older brother riding a tricycle. He is unable to pedal easily, Unable to turn around without standing up and doesn’t look like he’s having nearly as much fun as Grace! If you took the horn off the trike we doubt he’d be having fun at all. (There is also a training wheel bike sitting there unused)

“I wish I had a dollar for every time somebody asked me about my child’s Strider”

Well, after hearing this comment from Strider parents time and again, it has finally sunk in! Forget about $1, how about earning $15 dollars for every Strider sale that you initiate!

This is a great, easy way to earn some extra cash while out with your little Strider Riders! Below is a testimonial from Julie:

“Our son received the Strider bike for his second birthday as a gift from his Aunt. After riding around inside the house and quickly being able to ‘glide’ around the bends and down the hallways, we knew that this bike was something special. We knew that if other people could see this bike in action, they would want one for their own kids, so we decided to try the Strider referral program.

When we got the business cards, I packed them in our diaper bag and began taking the bike to any event that had a place to ride: local parks, fund raisers, the track, campgrounds, etc. EVERYONE asks about the bike when they see a little 2 year old riding along and I tell them it’s a Strider and hand them a business card. Even if they may not have a toddler, they probably know someone who does. One person said he had already looked at the frame and written down the name of the bike before he even talked to me.

There is also a large group of stay at home moms in the area and I sent out an email with a video of the bike along with some information and shared how happy we have been with it. I included our coupon code in the email. One mom said that they had just purchased a tricycle for their son and were SO disappointed with it and wished they had heard about the Strider bike sooner (She ended up asking her parents to purchase a Strider bike for her son and got one anyway!)

We had never heard about the Strider bike and now love it and feel that there are many other parents (and kids) out there who will also love it so we are happy to be the ones to tell them about it!” ~Julie (Referral Program Genius)

A few weekends ago we had the Strider Cup Easter Classic in Sarasota, Florida. John McCarthy, the Sarasota County manager for Tourism and Recreation gave a very enthusiastic report to the Sarasota board of county commissioners.

We love this video because it highlights how important it is to get the guys in ties and suits (not to mention the women in their power suits) involved in making bikes a larger part of the community. It also shows that the biking community can play a vital role in economy and tourism as well.

What has your community done to promote bicycling? It is National Bike Month and all! Do you only bike for exercise/entertainment or have you integrated two wheeled pedal power into your everyday lives?

The Strider portion comes at about 4:58…watch the entire thing or scoot forward.

We love getting Strider success stories from parents. We really love Strider success stories from parents who have been able to use their Striders as therapy. Below is a testimonial we got from Kelly this week.

I have a 4 ½ year-old son. He started on the Strider at 24 months. He took to it immediately. He can now ride a bike without training wheels. This is a typical story for a Strider rider. However, my son is not a typical child. He has Sensory Integration Dysfunction. His weaknesses are specifically in gross motor skills and gross motor planning. His physical and occupational therapists said that most kids at his level are not able to master riding a bike until at least 7 if not older. The Strider allowed him to separate the skills of balancing and pedaling so that he could concentrate on only one at a time. In addition, they said that most kids, and especially those with Sensory Integration Dysfunction, crave fast movement. It is something that allows them to develop a sense of where they are in space which strengthens the mind so that it can develop so many other gross motor skills, such as balance. The Strider definitely allows children to experience fast movement and practice their balancing skills. In addition, to all of this it is a great confidence booster for children. When people see them at the park and marvel at their ability to master riding a bike at such a young age, they just beam. There is nothing more important than a child’s self-esteem, if they have that they can do anything!
