Violet on Christmas Day!

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing kids take their first steps on their new Strider!  We know that a lot of kids got a Strider for Christmas and we’d love to see and hear your stories.

Click through to our facebook page and share a photo or video on our wall…even if they’ve been riding for a while.  We also have a new review tab and we would love to hear from you on there as well.

Below is a great video we found of Violet (Almost 2)  on YouTube and her first attempts at what appears will be a very successful future of Strider Riding.

Domo Arigato Team No Pedals!

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

Strider has been making leaps and bounds in their international following.  Japan really loves Strider!  They have set up ‘Team No Pedals‘, consisting of 9 team members, led by their captain…Tsubaki (a 3 year old who rocks her pink Strider!)  Make sure to check out their website (nopedals.net), they have some great photos and video up.

The Japanese Strider distributor has also started up “The Strider Cup” in his local area.  We’re looking at expanding this to have comparable tracks and times from all over the world!  Keep watching as we develop this in the New Year.

Feliz Natal e um feliz ano novo do Rio de Janeiro!  ~JoJo

Apparently in Brazil they celebrate Christmas on December 24th, something to do with the Southern Hemisphere I’m sure.  JoJo was able to get some face time with the big guy ,Papai Noel, as they call him in Rio then take in some tropical ride time around the city.

Merry Christmas from Team Strider and JoJo!

Papai Noel gets the thumbs up from JoJo.

Strider Leads The Way In Toddler Bike Technology!

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Pretty soon you won’t be able to find any Striders with “Patent Pending” on them anywhere.  On December 14th our unique design with frame integrated footrests was awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office!  Here’s to a great end to the year and an even better 2011!

Merry Christmas From The Strider Elves!

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

The Strider elves have been working hard this year to get Striders shipped out all over the globe!  Christmas is just a few days away, and we’re all very excited for the current and future Strider riders…hopefully they’re not on the naughty list.  Keep watching the blog and “like” us on facebook.  Now, with no more ado, here are the Strider elves showing their excitement with some hip-hop dance moves!

Tricycles, Training Wheels, and Crashes…Oh My!

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Warning: Great review followed by a video with some nasty trike/training wheel crashes.

“We bought two Striders for our 2.5 year old twins who had been really struggling with trying to peddle a tricycle. Within a couple of days they were zipping down the slight incline on our gravel driveway, and really balancing with no adult training required.

We saw them crash many times trying to negotiate riding a tricycle, but they really learned to balance quite easily on the Strider bike. It is well and thoughtfully engineered, strong, but light in weight for small kids.
5 out of 5 stars!  Highly recommended!!!! (Jay in Ohio)

A Day In The Life…

…of a Strider racer!

Found some cool photos of Nick this week, he is a Strider racer/rider from Washington State.  This past summer he rode in the kids race at ‘Bavarian Bike and Brew‘ in Leavenworth, Washington.  His Dad had this to say about the start to his illustrious racing career, “He loved it! He even did 3 extra laps past the cheering crowd in the Beer garden. Gotta love fans!”

He started off the day with a nutritious breakfast with cow and Bert.

A little late morning Pre-ride with Mom.

Quick nap before the big race!

Staring down opponents as he gets ready to start.

It seems like more and more racing venues are adding fun events for the Strider crowd.  Make sure to find one in your local area, they are a great way for your kids to have fun and connect with riding buddies for the rest of the year.  Our home base of the Black Hills has Winter and Summer fun, both with festive atmosphere!

Signed Tinker Juarez Strider! (Congrats Heather M.)

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

There is going to be a happy 18 month old on Christmas morning!  Tinker Juarez, four time 24 hour endurance national champion (and proud Dad of a Strider rider), signed a couple bikes for us back in October to raise some funds for IMBA (International Mountain Biking Association).  Heather M. won one today and will be wrapping up this sweet signed ride for her daughter this Christmas.

I wanted to thank you and the Strider bike company for this bike! I am so excited that I WON.  I remember entering thinking I would never win.  Thank you again. My little 1 1/2 year old is getting the Strider for Christmas and we cannot wait to try it out for her… she’s small so it might be awhile but my husband insisted on getting it. He has a friend whose little boys have had one. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. You made my day. :)   ~Heather

Big Brother, Little Brother!

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

We found a great video on Youtube that we just had to share!  We love that Tabor and Simeon  ride together even though they are clearly at different riding levels and ages.  At Strider we strive to not only develop balance skills at a young age, but to encourage fun with the entire family as well.  Get out, have fun, be safe and have a continued happy holiday season!

63 Degrees in Raleigh, North Carolina?!

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

That’s what the graphic on this great video introducing Striders to North Carolinians says.  While 63 degrees sounds good (as we sit inside on another chilly night in South Dakota) the story sounds even better!  The only thing we can find to disagree with is the bike mechanic saying that Striders are “probably better than training wheels.”  As most of you know already…Striders Rule, Training Wheels Drool!  (Click on the screen shot below to jump to news story)
