What Am I?

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Charlie, the twisted mind behind such classics as the “Strider Temper Tantrum” and “Double Trouble”, has been welding and painting this odd looking contraptions at Strider HQ the last couple days. We’ve been a little scared thinking it was some sort of new tool to keep us from goofing off too much.

We’ll sleep easier tonight knowing that it is an organizational rack for some of the sweet new color accessories!  The Mini-saddles and Strider Ultra-light wheels are both great ways to give your Strider that customized look!

What’s Hot At StriderLife.com

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Just over 3 months ago we started our new social media experiment…www.StriderLife.com!  We’ve had some great conversations with Parents, Grandparents and other Strider enthusiasts from all over the World (Japan, Germany, UK and Brazil just to name a few countries).

We wanted to take a few minutes and highlight one of the “Hot” threads in the forum section. If you click on the photo below you’ll be directed to some really cool custom modifications that parents are making to their kid’s Striders. There are also some top secret Strider prototypes that the gang has been working on in Striderville.

After you’ve started sharing your stories and media you can also send in for  a cool FREE Strider handlebar pad!

There is also a really fun media section called Strider TV with clips from Strider riders past and present!  Stride On!

Alex And His Dad Are Hitting The Trails Again!

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

About a month ago We posted a great video of Alex poaching his first Single Track with his Dad…He’s at it again!  This time they’re riding at Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. We can’t wait to see how Alex progresses in his trail handling skills. He’s only three and he is already taking the inside track on his Dad!

We love these videos because they are very well produced (Keep it up Ben) and they also show the versatility of the Strider. Whether you’re cruising around the neighborhood on your nightly walk, or ripping up some single track they are a perfect way to master balance, be active in the out of doors and most importantly…HAVE FUN!

Stride On Alex…Let us know when you’re riding in the 24 hours of Afton!

Bike Commuting Never Looked Cooler!

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

We weren’t able to understand the dialogue at the end of this cool video, but the amazing riding speaks for itself! If everybody commuted like this guy the world would be a much more interesting place!

Enjoy the Video, then get outside and enjoy the weekend with your Strider Rider! Maybe if they keep practicing on their Striders more people will commute like this in the not too distant future.

Strider at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca!

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

The Strider World Cup racing action at the Mazda raceway Laguna Seca was amazing!

We had 30 racers show up for the big event with many others stopping by just to do some Strider test rides. We even had six of our test riders from Saturday decide to race in the Strider World Cup on Sunday after only having ridden a Strider for a couple hours!

One couple drove for 5 hours to bring their Son (Jacob) ride in the Strider World Cup. “He placed last, but we had a blast!” ~Mom

The crowd was very enthusiastic as well.  We had to discourage some who were contemplating placing bets on the racers.  Another fan told us that “The Strider World Cup was the best race that he’d seen all week-end”

We have to agree with all the sentiments.  Thank You to all who came out, tested, raced, retweeted, etc during the Red Bull US Grand Prix!

See You Next Year!

Strider Family Fun Day!

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

Everybody present and accounted for!

On Saturday, the sixteenth of July, Strider Staff and Family got together for a bike ride on the Mickelson Trail in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.

An especially scenic ten mile section was chosen from over 100 available miles to ride.  A great time was had by all from the youngest (Finian 9 months) to the oldest Joe “Grillmaster” McFarland (We’re not telling).

Most of the Strider riders rode for a mile or two then took a break in a pull-behind trailer or riding up front with a parent.  One of the many advantages of a Strider is how light-weight they are and how easily they can be attached to a trailer or stroller!

The weather peaked in the 90′s with a nice breeze, but riding through the canyons, over bridges and even through an old railway tunnel kept it fun for all.  A few of the kids got squirts from a parent’s water bottle while they were sitting in their trailers!
