Custom Strider modifications have really taken off in Japan. Today’s blog entry is a video that one of the “Team No Pedals” parents made showing how to put on a stem and handlebar combo that will make your Strider rider feel cooler than they already do!
This can be completed at home with some relatively simple additions of a: head tube shim, an expander plug, a top cap, a stem (the shorter the better) and handlebars (not too wide!), which you should be able to pick up at your local bike shop.
This is also a great way to ensure that your child’s Strider doesn’t get confused with anybody else’s when you’re out on the town or having an impromptu Strider M.O.B. session at the local dirt park!
Strider Sports International is expanding it’s social media reach! We’ve recently started www.StriderLife.com as a way to connect with fans, Strider Riders and parents at a deeper level. Continue to “like us” and interact with us on Facebook, but head over to Strider Life (bookmark it) and join in the ongoing conversation there!

We don’t have all the specifics yet, but the photos and video from Strider Cup Japan are just too good not to share right away. The event was held in niigata and was a huge success! The kids were all very excited to race and the huge crowd had a lot of fun cheering them on.
One interesting thing about the Japanese riders is the amount of customization they do to their Striders. The video has some footage riding around town, practicing at a local dirt park and then goes into the big Strider Cup race!
Strider feels privileged to be a small reprieve from the hard times occurring in Japan recently. It is nice to see kids being kids and their family and friends cheering them on.

We have some amazingly talented distributors around the world. In Japan they are consistently pushing the envelope and they’ve done it yet again!
At a recent trade show they set up this really cool display and demo area. A couple things caught our eye in the YouTube clip below: 1) the track they have set up looks amazingly fun. 2) the display area is super cool. 3) Check out the custom painted and accesorized baby blue Strider. Customization is huge in the biking world so why not with Striders?
Keep up the great work Strider fans in Japan! Everybody else let us know how you’re customizing your Kiddo’s Strider on our FaceBook wall…We love to hear from you.

The 4TH STRIDER CUP with the support of HOTWHEELS & MEDICOM TOYS was held
at Aqua Arena in Tokyo from July 3 -4 http://www.strider.jp/news/index100601.html (here’s an English translation from Google.)
STRIDER KIDS CLASS (total of 160 attendants/kids) including the beginner Class for a
total of 90. The actual breakdown of this race was divided in the following category:
Age 2 class
Age 3 class
Age 4-5 class
As you can see from some of these fun videos, the event was a huge success.
The organizers asked us if in the future, guest riders from the US can participate in the race in Japan and vice versa. Any ideas? Let’s make it happen!
