There’s a new Sam’s Club in town and they’ve given Strider some front of the store real estate for an awesome display!

The real question is; how will they stop kids from riding these all over the store? We’ll update you after the opening!

Join the conversation on our Facebook page or send photos, stories, video or a combination of all three to blog@stridersports.com.

This week we’ll be posting a series of videos showing a progression of Stridering skills. Since this is the first entry naturally we will start with a video of a child’s first time on a Strider PREbike!
Cut to Aiden on his cool orange Strider! He is 20 months old and has a very stylish flame-laden helmet. He is very smiley and amazingly already trusting his weight to the seat.
Aiden is a little wobbly, but you can tell that he is quickly understanding his early balance skills. At the :50 second mark he sees a big kid ride by on his bike and thoughts of future bike riding glory are planted!
Keep watching the progression of riders this week and make sure to check us out on facebook to share your Strider stories, photos and video!

When talking about Strider with Friends and Customers we often hear parental concerns. Sometimes their children just want to only walk with their Strider, or refuse to sit on the seat at all! Other times, like my own daughter, they get easily distracted and quit riding after about 5 minutes. Recently we had a gathering of Strider riders at the warehouse. Ranging from 2 to 7 years old they were all on Striders and all were having a great time no matter their skill level.
Some of the kids were zipping up and down ramps, teeter totter obstacles, and raised balance planks. Others were content to wheel around on their Striders, seemingly oblivious, occasionally pointing out one of the bigger kids zooming by.
With that in mind, here is a great vidio of 19 month old Autumn on her new pink Strider. She is just big enough to get her feet on the ground and she is very determined to keep up with her big brother! Remember, no matter where they’re at with their Strider skills today, they’ll get it…eventually.
Don’t forget to find us on facebook to get the latest news and interact with all the other Strider parents!

Life has been in a huge state of adjustment lately. It is especially daunting to think about packing for our first plane ride together as a family of four. Do we bring the stroller? Will the two year old even sit in it? How much will my back hurt from carrying a chunky 2 1/2 month old in a baby bjorn all over Washington D.C.?
Then I came up with the perfect solution (actually I just remembered I’ve already seen it elsewhere)! I’ve seen pictures of JoJo riding his Strider in cool places all over the world. Then I remembered Adrian (Team Strider Europe!) and his Mom’s cool way of transporting his Strider when his legs get tired. (See Picture below)

Travel For Four? No Problem.
So, now the question is…will I be able to keep up with the two year old? We’d love to hear about Strider time on your family vacations or how you’ve taken it to unique places. Post photos, videos and stories to our facebook page…We Love To Hear From You!

At Strider Sports we love making children happy. We also love supporting local charity groups, which a lot of times means making children happy…win-win! This past summer we donated a Strider to the Central Iowa Trails Association for their annual ‘Take a Child Mountain Biking’ event.

Taking Home A New Strider!
One of the greatest things about a Strider, as I’m sure you already know, is the ability for kids to pick it up right away. They are also really great for hitting the trails, not only the pavement. (Try that on a Trike!)

Several of the other club members brought along their Striders and they were able to set up a demonstration area with some cool obstacles. As evidenced in the gallery below there were some crashes, but fun was still had by all!
To learn more about the charities we’ve donated to or you have a charity group that you think could benefit from the donation of a Strider let us know. Visit the Charity page and read how to contact us!

At least a couple inches doesn’t seem like much to us. We, here at Strider have a snow prototype that we’ve talked about previously. When it snows in Nashville they are quick to adapt! We ran across this cool modification on the Nashville Bicycle Lounge Facebook page. Rather than build skis they added some fatter tires to help their little ones stay on top of the white stuff.

We love to see what you guys do with your Strider! Whether its adding bells, streamers, horns or some sweet fat snow tires. Keep It Up, and make sure to post photos and stories of the results on our Facebook page.

Last July Strider announced our partnership with the NBL (National Bicycle League) as the official PREbike of the Bicycle Motocross Racing network. Over the Summer there were several races held at NBL races. With the cold weather they’ve taken it indoors with a Strider race on each day of their flagship “Christmastime Races” (The President’s Cup and The Christmas Classic).

Sweet Mohawk!
These photos are from the races on the first day of the Christmas Classic. There was a great crowd and the kids had a lot of fun being in the spotlight.

I Vow To Try My Hardest, But Most Of All To Have Fun!
The crowd loved it and they were cheering on all their local toddlers to make it across the finish line first! Keep watching this great partnership which is getting kids on bikes earlier all across the country.
Ready…Set…GO!!!!

Ran across this video today on Youtube and thought it was pretty cool! This Dad is very enthusiastic and Joey (19 months) is very committed…especially for his first time on a Strider. (You have to love their high five/fist bump combo too.)
It’s important to remember that every child has varying levels of comfort on their Strider. Some, like Joey, will feel comfortable with an incline and lifting their feet right away. Most, like my daughter, will spend the first few months walking with their butt off the seat.
No matter what speed they take to the Strider make sure to keep it available and make it fun and low stress. Before you know it they’ll be out-Stridering everyone on the block!
