Happy STRIDERday to you! Check out this fun video of Spencer having a great time with his biking partner, aka Fido.

I have no doubt that that Spencer will be riding a motorcycle very soon. He already has the sound effects down, plus he laughs off his falls.

Ilan’s Winning Run

Friday, January 6th, 2012

Here is a creative video for Friday. If you can’t find a competition near you or the racing season is over…make up your own!

The double butt lift, the shout out and the 360 bench bump are but a few of Ilan’s signature moves.  It is always fun for us to watch a STRIDER Rider progress.  We’ll check back in with Ilan next summer to see what cool new tricks he has mastered and check his current ranking in the Toddler Games!

Tom Danielson Getting His Son Ready For The Tour de France!

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of the Tour de France before. It’s a quaint little race that meanders through the French countryside, over a couple mountain passes and ends on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, a little known side street in Paris.

Tom Danielson is a professional road racing cyclist with a pretty amazing career so far.  In 2011 he finished 9th overall in the Tour de France and 3rd overall in the Tour of California.  The video below is proof that 2012 is going to be another amazing year for him and his family.  His son is riding a new red STRIDER!

We’ll have to keep an eye on him and see if he follows in his Dad’s footsteps Tire prints.

New Years Resolutions

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

The Earth has completed yet another trip around the sun…that means time to make at least one resolution. I’m taking inspiration from this cool footage from the Library of Congress Video Archive where the employees of Parke Davis can be seen leaving their jobs in 1899 by walking or riding a bike.

Before you say anything we know that Automobiles were invented less than 15 years before this footage was shot, that they were unattainable luxuries for the average factory worker, that they have improved the lives and mobility of most of the world since and lets face it…they can be pretty fun to drive!

So, without looking down on anybody for driving a vehicle, We resolve to ride our bikes more frequently (starting with short trips) and to ride more with our kids! Did any of you make bike related resolutions for 2012? Leave a Comment

Have Fun, Ride Safe and Ride More in 2012…Happy New Year!

Like Father, Like Son: Follow The Leader

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

Here is a great video of Paxton on his KTM STRIDER following his Dad over objects in the back yard.  This is a fun way to encourage your kids to try obstacles on their STRIDER.  Going up and over patio stones, 2 x 4′s and off of small curbing will help your STRIDER rider improve there riding and balance.

This also has the added benefit of improving a parent’s balance while showing their kids that being out of doors on two wheels is fun! Whether you’re on your trials motorcycle, mountain bike or beach cruiser get out for a ride soon.

Strider Sports And USA BMX Team Up To Run Strider World Cup Races
Balance Bike Races For Kids Will Take To The Track At 2012 USA BMX Nationals

Rapid City, SD (December 26, 2011) — Strider Sports is proud to announce a new partnership with USA BMX for the 2012 National Series, putting Strider World Cup racing at every USA BMX National event during the upcoming season. Strider World Cup racing made an incredible debut at the Grand Nationals held last month, and will continue to provide toddlers and young children a venue for friendly competition at every 2012 USA BMX National.

Strider No-Pedal Balance Bikes are designed to be the first step in teaching children how to ride a bike. The popular Strider World Cup races are held on portions of the BMX track and often on smaller specially-constructed tracks. They give children ages two to five the opportunity to take their riding to the next level — from balancing to racing on two wheels! Additionally, a Strider Adventure Zone will give kids a place to ride their Striders and have fun at each race.

USA BMX Strider memberships are available for $25. The membership includes the racer’s first Strider World Cup race and a USA BMX membership card. Participating in a race at any USA BMX National will qualify the racer for the Strider World Championship in Florida at Sarasota BMX next fall.

“The Strider bike is a great learning tool and an awesome first bike for kids,” says BA Anderson, USA BMX CEO. “Incorporating Strider World Cup races into our series is a great way to get siblings of current racers or young children started on the track. We are excited to have Strider on board as a National Series sponsor and look forward to having Strider races at our events.”

Ryan McFarland, founder of Strider Sports International, says, “We think USA BMX is the perfect fit for our Strider World Cup races. After witnessing the passion and camaraderie exhibited by BMX racers at the Grand Nationals last month, I am honored to bring Strider into the USA BMX family. We have the same enthusiasm for racing at Strider and can’t wait to share the Strider experience all season long!”
