STRIDER Races Return to Rapid City, SD!
Bring your toddler down for some STRIDER racing awesomeness at the the 8th annual ‘Extreme Indoor Enduro’ in the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. There is an anticipated crowd of over 3,000 people with National TV coverage on SPEED TV!
The entry fee per STRIDER racer is $10. Each racer will receive a STRIDER T-shirt, a custom number plate for their bike and a medal!
Children 6 and under are free ($0.00). Two tickets for Parents of STRIDER riders are available for only $5.00 each! (Tickets are normally $14.50 – $19.50) STRIDER families also get the added benefit of skipping the ticket line and paying at the STRIDER registration tent near the ticket booth.
1/21/12 Extreme Indoor Enduro Schedule:
6:30 to 7:15pm — Registration at the STRIDER booth
7:20 — STRIDER racer/parent pre-race meeting
7:37 — National Anthem
7:38 — Travis Pastrana/Nitro Circus STRIDER video played on big screen!
7:40 – STRIDER Racing Action Starts!

The Earth has completed yet another trip around the sun…that means time to make at least one resolution. I’m taking inspiration from this cool footage from the Library of Congress Video Archive where the employees of Parke Davis can be seen leaving their jobs in 1899 by walking or riding a bike.
Before you say anything we know that Automobiles were invented less than 15 years before this footage was shot, that they were unattainable luxuries for the average factory worker, that they have improved the lives and mobility of most of the world since and lets face it…they can be pretty fun to drive!
So, without looking down on anybody for driving a vehicle, We resolve to ride our bikes more frequently (starting with short trips) and to ride more with our kids! Did any of you make bike related resolutions for 2012? Leave a Comment

Skate parks are great places for little STRIDER riders to gain some confidence on their bikes. Most will have ramps of various sizes for everyone from the youngest, to those looking to practice more advance skills.
Travis is 3 years old and has been riding his STRIDER for only 4 months! He certainly looks like he’s having a great time at the Lewisville Skate Park with his family.
Large Amounts of smooth concrete for the kids and no vehicles driving around for Mom and Dad to constantly be worried about…Win/Win!

Being the youngest kid can be difficult…especially when all your siblings are zooming around on their bikes. Hopefully after the Christmas season we’ll get more stories like this in our inbox! (only 18 days left…hint, hint)
“My son received this bike for his third birthday. He has ridden it nearly everyday since then (11 months ago). He has such freedom to ride and coast with this bike. It lets him keep up with his older siblings, and it has given him great confidence on a bike. I know that he could easily move to a two-wheel “regular” bike now, but this Strider is so much fun for him that I am simply buying the extended-height seat post to give him another year on it. Here is a video manifesto for this Striderday post from Bicycle Transportation Alliance in Oregon. Striderville isn’t quite up to par with Portland yet, but we do have an amazing bike path, more than amazing mountain bike trails and some progressive city council members working hard to get more bike lines.
Hopefully, one day cities all over the world will be more bike friendly!

The Strider World Cup races are breaking into the the BMX magazines! This month in “PULL” there was a nice blurb about the Strider Racing at the Midwest Nationals in Warsaw, Indiana. We love the caption, “When the flag drops, The Similac stops“! One of the advantages for USA BMX is getting the next generation or BMX racers into the game at an even earlier age and help them skip the training wheels altogether!
