Reminiscing and Dreaming of Warm Weather

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

When we woke up this morning and peeked out the window what do you think we saw?  It is snowing again in Striderville!  Yeah, we know…It is only the middle of April and it snows every year at this time, but it is hard to go from 70 degrees to snow in the same week!

Thinking about warmer weather got us thinking about a stop we made in Denver at the Motocross of Nations on the way back from Interbike last year.  Todd and Kent were representing Sales, Charlie was on hand for some R&D and Ryan (Strider Founder and Chief Enthusiast) wanted to stop because he is a hardcore motocross/racing fan.

Lets get some RedBull in these fellows...they look tired.

Thanks for indulging our walk down memory lane.

Strider in MiniRider Magazine!

Friday, April 8th, 2011

The KTM Strider is making a splash in the motocross world and was recently featured in MiniRider Magazine’s “Gear Bag” section!  Strider is going to revolutionize bicycling as well as motorcycling for toddlers.

Our favorite quote from the Minirider Blurb…When you’re an old man and have no teeth (again) you can say, “I’m so old my first KTM had no motor, and to make it go you had to push it!”

Get out there and have fun no matter what your two-wheeled mode of fun is, and don’t forget to include your little two wheeled Striderers!

Turn to Page 9 if you're buying the magazine!

Strider Cup and Other Opportunities!

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

So…yesterday we posted on the Strider Cup which is an exciting new way to introduce your Striderer(s) to competition!  It will also be a great way to get your Strider rider(s) honing their Strider skills with others, maybe they could even start a M.O.B. (Munchkins On Bikes).

We’ve been getting a lot of great input on Facebook and by email at blog@stridersports.com.  Unfortunately the Strider cup will be limited to particular National Bicycle League (NBL) events…which is sad news .  The good news is that Strider is the Official PREbike” of the NBL, as such there is a Strider race at every NBL race across the nation at 125 BMX tracks!!!!

“125 tracks, all with official Strider class racing, you say?  That’s Amazing!” (This is what I imagine you’re thinking right now)

“Why yes, 125 tracks…sadly there are still some states that don’t have a track”  (This is what I just said out loud and the reason that everybody in the coffee shop is currently giving me strange looks)

We came up with a couple solutions:

1. Get a group of likeminded people together and start a track with the assistance of the NBL in your area!  If your kids are on Striders now, this would be a great way to keep them involved in a great sport for years to come.

2. Plan a way to schedule your summer vacation near any of the 125 NBL race tracks and get your Strider rider pumped up.  Most have races every weekend with many scheduling races on weeknights as well.  Remember to give them a call ahead to reserve a space and find out about registration.

Let us know if you have any other ideas by joining the conversation on Facebook…whether you can get your child into the Strider Cup or not make sure that you’re encouraging them to get outside this summer and HAVE FUN!

Strider Kids Race At NBL Events

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

Last July Strider announced our partnership with the NBL (National Bicycle League) as the official PREbike of the Bicycle Motocross Racing network.  Over the Summer there were several races held at NBL races.  With the cold weather they’ve taken it indoors with a Strider race on each day of their flagship “Christmastime Races” (The President’s Cup and The Christmas Classic).

Sweet Mohawk!

These photos are from the races on the first day of the Christmas Classic.  There was a great crowd and the kids had a lot of fun being in the spotlight.

I Vow To Try My Hardest, But Most Of All To Have Fun!

The crowd loved it and they were cheering on all their local toddlers to make it across the finish line first!  Keep watching this great partnership which is getting kids on bikes earlier all across the country.

Ready…Set…GO!!!!

Domo Arigato Team No Pedals!

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

Strider has been making leaps and bounds in their international following.  Japan really loves Strider!  They have set up ‘Team No Pedals‘, consisting of 9 team members, led by their captain…Tsubaki (a 3 year old who rocks her pink Strider!)  Make sure to check out their website (nopedals.net), they have some great photos and video up.

The Japanese Strider distributor has also started up “The Strider Cup” in his local area.  We’re looking at expanding this to have comparable tracks and times from all over the world!  Keep watching as we develop this in the New Year.

Signed Tinker Juarez Strider! (Congrats Heather M.)

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

There is going to be a happy 18 month old on Christmas morning!  Tinker Juarez, four time 24 hour endurance national champion (and proud Dad of a Strider rider), signed a couple bikes for us back in October to raise some funds for IMBA (International Mountain Biking Association).  Heather M. won one today and will be wrapping up this sweet signed ride for her daughter this Christmas.

I wanted to thank you and the Strider bike company for this bike! I am so excited that I WON.  I remember entering thinking I would never win.  Thank you again. My little 1 1/2 year old is getting the Strider for Christmas and we cannot wait to try it out for her… she’s small so it might be awhile but my husband insisted on getting it. He has a friend whose little boys have had one. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. You made my day. :)   ~Heather

Retreat from the cold!

Monday, December 13th, 2010

With Blizzards all around the country we’ve been looking for things to do inside!  Mike; our graphic design guru, mountain bike friend, and father of a few Strider riders , thought of this interesting use of the excess bubble wrap he had laying around from all the presents he bought this holiday season.  Tell me that doesn’t look like fun!

Sell Strider PREbikes. Make Money. Have fun.

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Are you looking for something extra to do on the side?  No Strider dealer in your area and you want to introduce your neighbors and friends to the fun their kids can have on a Strider?  Look into the Strider Home Based Dealer Program and you will be able to do both of these things and more.

Here is a short note and some photos from one of our newest home based dealers in Canada, eh!

“I am a new dealer in Vancouver, BC Canada and just wanted to email you and tell you how much we love the bike, firstly as parents and secondly as a small business (that rarely feels like work!) I just started two months ago and sold my 30th bike today! I wanted to pass on a little video if you have a chance to watch it of my 8 1/2 month old son trying out his future bike! He always has the biggest grin when he sees it or gets to ‘ride’ it!”    ~Lindsay M.

Oldest son James rode the entire 2.5 km loop!

Mason is being carried for this walk and James is still able to stop and check things out astride his Strider.
