As the sons of Strider’s founder Ryan McFarland, Jesse and Bode have been the willing test riders for Strider since day one. If ‘necessity is the Mother of invention’ than ‘teaching Bode to ride a bike was the Mother of Strider.’ Ever since they were old enough to walk, they’ve been on two wheels of one kind or another.
Starting at three years old they were both on an Oset electric mini dirt bikes. Here are some great photos of Jesse and Bode decked out in Yamaha blue on their PW50 and TTR 90 respectively.
Their progression is moving along every day as they get older…but they both still love to ride Striders!

The KTM Strider is making a splash in the motocross world and was recently featured in MiniRider Magazine’s “Gear Bag” section! Strider is going to revolutionize bicycling as well as motorcycling for toddlers.
Our favorite quote from the Minirider Blurb…When you’re an old man and have no teeth (again) you can say, “I’m so old my first KTM had no motor, and to make it go you had to push it!”
Get out there and have fun no matter what your two-wheeled mode of fun is, and don’t forget to include your little two wheeled Striderers!

Ryan has been working hard all year. He has also been behaving this year, if the package that arrived at Strider HQ is any indication of his lack of naughtiness. Santa knew that he wouldn’t be able to fit the amazing ‘KTM 200 XC-W‘ down the chimney so he just had a delivery truck drop it by.

Ryan has either been very good this year, or he figured Santa might be too busy to notice the new KTM he bought himself right before Christmas.
The best thing about this amazing motorcycle is that it will match the new KTM Striders that have been tearing up the trails and dirt parks all over the globe!
Warning: Great review followed by a video with some nasty trike/training wheel crashes.
“We bought two Striders for our 2.5 year old twins who had been really struggling with trying to peddle a tricycle. Within a couple of days they were zipping down the slight incline on our gravel driveway, and really balancing with no adult training required.
We saw them crash many times trying to negotiate riding a tricycle, but they really learned to balance quite easily on the Strider bike. It is well and thoughtfully engineered, strong, but light in weight for small kids.
5 out of 5 stars! Highly recommended!!!!“ — (Jay in Ohio)
…of a Strider racer!
Found some cool photos of Nick this week, he is a Strider racer/rider from Washington State. This past summer he rode in the kids race at ‘Bavarian Bike and Brew‘ in Leavenworth, Washington. His Dad had this to say about the start to his illustrious racing career, “He loved it! He even did 3 extra laps past the cheering crowd in the Beer garden. Gotta love fans!”
It seems like more and more racing venues are adding fun events for the Strider crowd. Make sure to find one in your local area, they are a great way for your kids to have fun and connect with riding buddies for the rest of the year. Our home base of the Black Hills has Winter and Summer fun, both with festive atmosphere!
With Blizzards all around the country we’ve been looking for things to do inside! Mike; our graphic design guru, mountain bike friend, and father of a few Strider riders , thought of this interesting use of the excess bubble wrap he had laying around from all the presents he bought this holiday season. Tell me that doesn’t look like fun!
We caught a quick glimpse of a red Strider PREbike on a NBC broadcast out of Philadelphia last week! Check out the Video(at 1:20 in), which has some great tips on safe toy buying as the holiday season fast approaches…much more informative than ‘Irwin Mainway: Consumer Probe‘
Pat yourself on the back if you guessed, Milan! Strider riding, travelling the world and being awesome makes JoJo one of the busiest 3 year old we’ve ever known! Last time we peaked into the jet-setters world he was in Rio riding his Strider and turning heads. He’s still turning heads, but now he’s getting attention from the Italians and their pigeons.
JoJo also had a chance to get together with Adrian from “Team Strider: Slovakia”
