Hope all our Strider family had a great Easter. We’ve had bunnies and Striders on our minds so we thought it would be a good time to introduce a more advanced Strider skill: the Bunny Hop!

This guy could bunny hop over a child on a Strider!
Bunny Hop -n: a jump executed by a person riding a bicycle Strider and standing up on the pedals launch pad footrests.
I had to altar the definition a bit to fit with Strider, but the concept is the same for a Strider as with a pedal-bike. The lightness of a Strider along with the launch pads make it easy for toddlers to get off the ground with their bikes, whether they are adding a little extra hang time off of a ramp or bunny hopping on flat land.

Hippity-Hoppity, Hippity-Hoppity, Look at Bode Hop!

Here is a great video for Monday! Cade is ripping up his neighborhood dirt track with his dog, mountains in the background and last years plant life over his head. (disclaimer: remember to always wear your helmet)
Dirt tracks like this are a great place to get your Strider rider onto some varied terrain. They can be put in with little more than some spare dirt and elbow grease. If you have an amazing Parks department like Striderville does they may just allow it to be built on city land as well!
Recently a group of Strider employees and their families went for an outing at our local dirt jump park. The older kids had a great time trying some new tricks (some even catching air). You could see the confidence level increase in the younger Striderers just from watching the older kids buzz by.

April 2nd and 3rd saw the second round of Strider Cup races go down in Petersburg, Virginia and Las Cruces, NM!
JoJo made an appearance in Virginia to ride with Strider Riders at the Battlefield Nationals. While Saturday was a little damp, Sunday was beautiful and full of Sunshine…perfect for Strider racing.

Faces Showed a Mix of Intensity and Sheer Joy
Brandon (far left #662) is a great Strider success story. On Sunday some NBL officials saw him struggling to ride his training wheel bike through the pit area and decided to get him on a Strider. After a heated race with JoJo and Evan he came in a close 3rd! Pretty good for his first day on a Strider.

The KTM Strider is making a splash in the motocross world and was recently featured in MiniRider Magazine’s “Gear Bag” section! Strider is going to revolutionize bicycling as well as motorcycling for toddlers.
Our favorite quote from the Minirider Blurb…When you’re an old man and have no teeth (again) you can say, “I’m so old my first KTM had no motor, and to make it go you had to push it!”
Get out there and have fun no matter what your two-wheeled mode of fun is, and don’t forget to include your little two wheeled Striderers!

Turn to Page 9 if you're buying the magazine!

You’ve seen the Double Trouble in previous Strider blog entries, now see it in action! Wyatt and Cole, sons of Strider R&D man Charlie, test ride their Dad’s creation to see if they can cooperate long enough to make it work.
Cole’s legs are a little shorter than Wyatt’s, but this is definitely the best test ride to date!

We were recently sent a video of some Oregonian 2 1/2 year old twin boys showing their Strider skills. After less than a month of riding they are feeling comfortable on their Striders and cruising down some hills at the local track!
This is a great example of how easy it is to move from standing and walking to more advanced Stridering skills.
We hope everyone has a great weekend, whatever your plans. Join the conversation on Strider’s Facebook wall. Send photos, videos and stories of your Stridering fun to blog@stridersports.com

JoJo has traveled all over the world on his Strider adventures. Last week he was in Peachtree City, Georgia for the Inaugural Strider World Cup races!
Did you see him?
He had a great time racing and making new friends. He finished first in a highly contested 4 year old class. He also worked on perfecting high fives and blowing up fist bumps. Below is a fun video from JoJo’s Dad of the Sunday finals race.
Here is a great comment we received this week from a Strider parent!
“We came up to Peachtree City, GA on a lark from Gainesville, FL just to let our son ride in the first Strider Cup race. What a blast!! People thought we were crazy for coming so far, but we are such avid Strider fans (a number of our friends have bought striders for their kids and others want to buy our striders as our kids grow up) we just decided we had to do it. Now that we have experienced our first Strider Cup and NBL event, we are already making plans to attend the two events in FL and one in NC. It was also a pleasure to meet the folks who run the Strider Sports company. Thankyou for a great family event, Strider!”

Update from the first of many “Strider World Cup” races! Everybody had a great time…Awesome weather, Strider riders excited about being on their bikes, Amazing support from all the onlookers. Couldn’t ask for much else. Check out the photos below and plan on attending a Strider Cup race this year!
“We had a wonderful weekend with the Strider racing being the highlight. The weather was so perfect. By Sunday we had the Strider racing organized, or I should say more organized. This is going to get big, I am telling you. Everyone is talking about it. Last night at our track that was the buzz.” ~ NBL (Erma)

So…yesterday we posted on the Strider Cup which is an exciting new way to introduce your Striderer(s) to competition! It will also be a great way to get your Strider rider(s) honing their Strider skills with others, maybe they could even start a M.O.B. (Munchkins On Bikes).

We’ve been getting a lot of great input on Facebook and by email at blog@stridersports.com. Unfortunately the Strider cup will be limited to particular National Bicycle League (NBL) events…which is sad news . The good news is that Strider is the “Official PREbike” of the NBL, as such there is a Strider race at every NBL race across the nation at 125 BMX tracks!!!!
“125 tracks, all with official Strider class racing, you say? That’s Amazing!” (This is what I imagine you’re thinking right now)
“Why yes, 125 tracks…sadly there are still some states that don’t have a track” (This is what I just said out loud and the reason that everybody in the coffee shop is currently giving me strange looks)
We came up with a couple solutions:
1. Get a group of likeminded people together and start a track with the assistance of the NBL in your area! If your kids are on Striders now, this would be a great way to keep them involved in a great sport for years to come.
2. Plan a way to schedule your summer vacation near any of the 125 NBL race tracks and get your Strider rider pumped up. Most have races every weekend with many scheduling races on weeknights as well. Remember to give them a call ahead to reserve a space and find out about registration.
Let us know if you have any other ideas by joining the conversation on Facebook…whether you can get your child into the Strider Cup or not make sure that you’re encouraging them to get outside this summer and HAVE FUN!
