This last Fall Malcolm Smith was in Strider’s backyard. Ryan McFarland, Strider Founder and Chief Enthusiast, was able to lead some rides with Malcolm and some other Tucker Rocky distributors from all over the nation. We’ve recently partnered with Malcolm for a charity auction held in November to raise money for the Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundation. Strider has also donated bikes to ‘El Oasis’ orphanage in Baja, Mexico which Malcolm is heavily involved with.
Make sure to check out our new Strider KTM bikes as well. We love Bikes; Mountain, Road and Dirt! That’s one of the reasons we want to encourage fun and teach balance to children at a young age.
Here is a short video we put together of the gang tearing it up the always Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota…Enjoy.

Ryan has been working hard all year. He has also been behaving this year, if the package that arrived at Strider HQ is any indication of his lack of naughtiness. Santa knew that he wouldn’t be able to fit the amazing ‘KTM 200 XC-W‘ down the chimney so he just had a delivery truck drop it by.

Ryan has either been very good this year, or he figured Santa might be too busy to notice the new KTM he bought himself right before Christmas.
The best thing about this amazing motorcycle is that it will match the new KTM Striders that have been tearing up the trails and dirt parks all over the globe!

…of a Strider racer!
Found some cool photos of Nick this week, he is a Strider racer/rider from Washington State. This past summer he rode in the kids race at ‘Bavarian Bike and Brew‘ in Leavenworth, Washington. His Dad had this to say about the start to his illustrious racing career, “He loved it! He even did 3 extra laps past the cheering crowd in the Beer garden. Gotta love fans!”

He started off the day with a nutritious breakfast with cow and Bert.

A little late morning Pre-ride with Mom.

Quick nap before the big race!

Staring down opponents as he gets ready to start.
It seems like more and more racing venues are adding fun events for the Strider crowd. Make sure to find one in your local area, they are a great way for your kids to have fun and connect with riding buddies for the rest of the year. Our home base of the Black Hills has Winter and Summer fun, both with festive atmosphere!

KTM Strider PREbikes have just hit the U.S. shoreline and are enroute to our distribution center! The bikes will be up on our webstore and ready for purchase at high noon on Wednesday, November 3rd. Mark your calendar… these bikes are sure to go fast (pun intended!).

MURRIETA, CA (October 20, 2010) — KTM North America, Inc. and Strider Sports International are excited to announce a licensing agreement for the introduction of the KTM Strider PREbike™. The KTM Strider PREbike™ is a revolutionary pedal-free bike that enables toddlers as young as 18 months to learn how to ride and balance on two wheels… years earlier than if they used the conventional tricycle or training wheel method. Most important, Strider™ teaches the skills needed to safely and easily transition to riding both a pedal bike and a Sportminicycle, making the first experience on each much more successful and positive.

We have a fun event coming up on December 12, 2009 at the Central States Fairgrounds indoor event center in Rapid City, SD. This the third night of racing for the Black Hills Arena Racing motocross series and Strider running bikes is a sponsor of the event. As such, we are going to have a Strider Free Ride event prior to the racing action.
The track will be all prepped and formed into berms, jumps, whoops and all sorts of fun stuff for little kids to play on! It is basically a giant sandbox/playground. Doors open at 5:45pm on Saturday night. Strider riders meet toward the west end of the arena and take to the track at 6:15pm. We’ll play on the track until the racing is set to get underway (usually about 6:45pm). At that time, you can go grab a snack from the concession stand and get to your seat for some FUN action. If you haven’t been to these races, they are really something to see… the big air and speed of the pros is awesome and the pee-wee racers are fun to watch as well. You’ll even be able to cheer for Bode McFarland (#85) in the Pee-Wee 4-6 class… Bode is my first son and was the inspiration for the Strider running bike way back when. If you can’t make it to the event, check back here in a few weeks and we’ll try to have a video posted!
