STRIDER SPORTS TEAMS-UP WITH AMGEN TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
TO CREATE FAMILY FRIENDLY STRIDER ADVENTURE ZONES
EACH DAY OF AMERICA’S MOST POPULAR CYCLING EVENT
The Strider Experience Descends On Prestigious Cycling Road Race May 13-20
Rapid City, SD (April 2, 2012) — Strider Sports International, the world’s premier no-pedal balance bike manufacturer, will be providing an interactive place for toddlers to enjoy Strider No-Pedal bikes and some friendly competition at each of the eight finish stages of the Amgen Tour of California from Santa Rosa to Los Angeles, California May 13-20, 2012.
Featured within the Amgen Tour of California’s popular Lifestyle Festival, the Strider Adventure Zones feature Strider test rides and opportunities for kids to play, learn, and socialize with peers while riding on two wheels. The Adventure Zones will be set up at all stages of America’s most successful cycling race. In addition, kids will have a chance to race on a specially-designed course at the Final Stage at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles. The races and other elements of the Strider Adventure Zones are the perfect way to fuel a child’s budding passion for cycling and to help teach sportsmanship and camaraderie with fellow riders.
The Amgen Tour of California is an eight-day event, featuring elite professional teams and athletes from around the world. The 16 world-class teams chosen to participate in the 2012 race will include Olympic hopefuls and Tour de France contenders representing more than 20 countries, giving fans around the world a preview of what is to come this July in both France and London.
Strider Sports International CEO Ryan McFarland says, “The Amgen Tour of California is a natural fit to help promote the Strider Adventure Zone program and Strider racing as we believe they provide a means for the entire family to enjoy fun on two wheels. Children want to emulate their parents and older racers. Strider bikes inspire even the youngest kids to get outside, get on a bike, and be just like their heroes!”
“For the first time, the new Strider Adventure Zones will create an interactive family experience for everyone who attends our race and visits the Lifestyle Festival,” said Kristin Bachochin, executive director, Amgen Tour of California. “It took a creative organization like Strider Sports International to develop this unique concept that we are sure will be one of the most popular and most visited destinations for fans each day of our race.”
Find Strider at the end of each of the tour’s eight stage races beginning Sunday, May 13th in Santa Rosa; Monday, May 14th in Santa Cruz; Tuesday, May 15th in Livermore; Wednesday, May 16th in Clovis; Thursday, May 17th in Bakersfield; Friday, May 18th in Big Bear Lake; Saturday, May 19th in Mt.
