The STRIDER and BMX racers had a great time at the Gator Nationals in Sunny (and cold) Florida.  Our very own Eric Bess was there to capture footage from the Strider World Cup races and get some interviews from: USA BMX marketing man Shannon Gillette, Pro Racer Barry Nobles, and several stoked little STRIDER riders!

Monday Morning Smiles

Monday, February 27th, 2012

What better way to start off another week then with some video of a new STRIDER rider’s first ride. The seat height is just low enough for this little guy to walk along with his STRIDER.  It is also a great example of the striding style of most beginners. When he finds his balance while seated the back yard is going to be too small.

I bet you can’t watch it without cracking at least one smile.

Happy Striderday: Chad Reed Edition

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

STRIDER employees and family love most two wheeled forms of transport, whether they are recreational or utilitarian. Chad Reed is a favorite Supercross rider of Jesse, son of Founder and Chief Enthusiast Ryan McFarland.

We found this great video of Chad talking about the importance of his family in his success on and off the track.  Reed is currently recuperating from some injuries. STRIDER wishes him a quick recovery and good times with his family while healing.

There is also some footage of Chad’s son, Tate. In one clip you get to see the custom Two Two Motorsports decals on his red STRIDER!

A Boy And His STRIDER: Day One

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

We love getting letters from new STRIDER fans, especially when they include some photos of their new little riders.  Yesterday we were forwarded this series of photos from our distributor in Slovakia. A brand new yellow STRIDER and a cool NutCase helmet...what more could a kid want?

He’s got his tools ready to help put his STRIDER together.  Not only do they start riding earlier, they start slinging wrenches too!

Saddle in the lowest position, big smile…successful first STRIDER ride!

No explanation necessary. Another great first day for a new STRIDER rider. Stride On!

Happy President’s Day!

Monday, February 20th, 2012

STRIDER employees and many other residents of Striderville are well aware of the amazing biking opportunities in our area. Striderville is also known as the City of Presidents and is Located a mere 30 minutes from Mt. Rushmore. Few people are aware that the only known photo of Abraham Lincoln on a bicycle was taken in downtown Rapid City, SD (aka Striderville)!

Possibly not the real Abe Lincoln...

Have a great President’s Day and make sure to check out the other (real) photos of presidents on bikes in the gallery. Maybe one day we’ll have a President in office with a STRIDER rider!

Now that you’ve been presidentially inspired get out for a STRIDER ride with your kids today.

And Now…Some Reviews!

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

“I bought this for my 22 month old and he’s almost 3 now and is still using it. He was slow to get started on it, but once he got the hang of it he can cruise pretty quickly. I go for walk/jogs and have to work to keep up with him. He keeps up with my 2 older kids on their bikes and totally skipped the tricycles. He can balance and steer really well. We live in the NW and the bike is left out in the rain a lot. We’ve had it about 15months and it’s held up really well…..no rust. I think he’ll learn to ride a pedal bike at an early age because he’s already got the balancing and steering down.”

“My 20 month old son in love with his bike!! I can not get him off of it and we are looking forward to him racing on it!!”

Social Media Explained

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

There has been a funny photo being shared on  Facebook concerning social media and donuts this week.  I found it pretty amusing and wanted to share it with all of the STRIDER fans in a more relevant way than donuts. Hope you’re having a great Wednesday.
