Strider PREbike Compared to Wooden Balance Bike

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Glad the twins enjoy their Striders, very interesting comparison to the wooden balance bikes.

Let me just say the kids LOVE these bikes! We ordered our 2 year old twin boys a wooden run bike last year and they fit so poorly they could never use them, even after a year they were just too large and awkward. After awhile they were in fact scared to try. I was about to give up and thought they just didn’t like run bikes. But I saw a friend’s child whizzing around on one again and just had to try again. This time I did my research – I knew I needed a bike that was very adjustable, metal, affordable and light. Oh and FUN! Strider bikes fit that bill perfectly, I also loved that I could buy any extra parts cheap and that the bike would grow with them – not just in the seat but also the handle bars. Within 3 days of having a Strider bike they were building ramps with their Dad and zooming all over the place! I love how adjustable they are – great for my very short twins. We live on a dirt road on the edge of a mountain bike trail system. These bikes are the perfect thing for where we live. Pedaling a tricycle on grass and gravel just isn’t that exciting. The boys even take their bikes out on the trails with their Dad. It is just amazing! We are big fans. Customer service is wonderful too.

Thanks a bunch, Zoe Johnson

Autistic Boy Pedaling 2-Wheeler After Three Weeks on a Strider

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

A few weeks ago we posted a story about five-year-old Garrett, a boy with autism who had some trouble with training wheels. After three weeks with a Strider, he’s already off to pedaling, and thinking about giving his Strider to his little sister!

Hi!  I sent you a video of my 5-year-old son, Garrett a few weeks ago when we first got his Strider bike.  To help you remember, he has a form of autism and we were really surprised by how well he did on his first try.  You asked if you could share the video and our story.

Anyway, here’s an update.  This is his first attempt at a pedal bike.  We bought one at a garage sale for $5 to just have around in case one day he was feeling confident.  We mention it when he’s out riding his bike, but he’s never wanted to try and we’ve never pushed it.  Today was the day he decided to try.  His first attempt on his Strider bike was just 3 weeks ago.

As you can see, he did REALLY well (even without shoes… weirdo.  .  He rides his Strider bike without shoes, too, most of the time.)  We’re amazed, shocked, proud, excited and 100% grateful for your awesome bike!  He’s almost ready to give it to his sister.

Thanks again!

Learning to Balance on a Strider PREbike

Learning to Balance on a Strider PREbike“Just wanted to send you this little video of my daughter who is not even 2 1/2.  She loves this strider bike and learned to ride it on the first day she tried it.  We originally bought it for my son when he was three and he only used it a month and learned how to ride a big boys bike.  Even though he learned how to ride a big boys bike he still continued to use the strider.  Now with my daughter using it, I am so excited that she feels like a big girl now!  Thanks for such a wonderful product and great learning tool!”

Strider Coverage in Mountain Bike Action

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Here’s an article on Strider in the latest edition in Mountain Bike Action!

“For only $99, you can start your little one on the bike path of life earlier than ever. A Strider PREbike allows kids to learn to bicycle balance around the same time they learn to walk. There are no pedals to get in the way. Riders simply push off and put their little feet on a piece of grip tape, located on the solid swingarm, to coast along. Before you know it, a pedal bike purchase will be in your future, and you can bypass the training wheels. Strider bikes come in orange, blue, green, red, yellow and pink colors.”

We Love Hearing from our Customers

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

“I purchased one of your bikes in December (Christmas Present) for my daughter.  In the past several weeks she has finally totally fallen in love with it.  Even brings it inside and yes, rides it.  Until we catch her and tell her to get the bike out of the house.  But you got to laugh at her Zipping through the house!”

Toddler on a Strider

Strider PREbike featured on the Examiner.com

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

examiner_logo-headerWe’d like to thank Dean Rotbart for the wonderful article he wrote on the Examiner.com about the Strider PREbike.

“Toddlers are eager to ride independently like the big kids and our PREbikes let them do it a lot sooner and more safely than do trikes or training wheels,” says McFarland, who invented the first Strider PREbike in his garage for his then 2-year-old son, Bode.

Strider vs Trike: Another Success Story

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Courtney Wilson over at My Ordinary Everyday Happily Ever After wrote a cool story about her son and his new Strider. Glad it’s working out well, and that he’s no longer using his trike as a stool!

Matt on his Strider

He’s getting REALLY good at it and his favorite thing is going downhill.  He just lifts up his feet and coasts down the hill.  If he gets unsteady, he slams his feet on the ground and comes to a stop.

Strider Rider’s in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

Friday, April 9th, 2010

One of our home base dealers sent us this email with these three pictures:

Ryan,
Here are some pictures from the parade we did a couple weeks ago. Mainly wanted to show you our T-shirts. And one funny post-parade photo-opp (I’m sure you have many of these)…

We had 10 riders in this parade. I’m 100% sure that parades are the best form of advertising for our business. Our sales shoot up after every parade we participate in.

I’m sure the stadium stuff you’ve been doing has been awesome for business! I’m keeping an eye out for stuff like that in this area.

We’re not sure what the rest of the site says because it’s in Japanese, but it looks like they’re having fun riding in the Strider Cup.
